Happy Wednesday, fellow reading addicts!
It has been an exciting start to the week. Sunday night, a neighbor and I caught two kittens that had been wandering the neighborhood for almost a week. Got them in crates and posted on social media and found the owners. Got them back safe and sound… until yesterday. The girl found him at noon. I caught him last night and she showed up.
Cutest little orange kitty I’ve seen in a while and quite the conversationalist. I’m sure he’s going to show up again.
I hope you’re looking for a lot of books to read because this week I have an absolute ton for you! Boxed sets, free books, series sale, new releases and more and a great variety of genres to check out.
Enjoy and happy reading!

There are still problems, from drug dealers to illegal enchanted items, but the duo’s relentless efforts alongside their fellow Inquisitors has been bearing fruit.
They might just be making a difference.
The Inquisitors take a breath and look forward to the possibility of wedding chimes in the near future.
But dig deep enough, and bad blood bubbles up.
Someone’s been picking at the dirt like an old scab, and it’s up to Doughas and Vor to hold the city together one more time.
With dark secrets clawing their way up from within and dire signs coming from without, maybe it’s too much to ask that this will be the time their effort sticks.
As a certain stubborn old dwarf said, “If doin’ what’s right were easy, then e’er’body ‘d do it.”

** As noted in other series set in the Kurtherian Universe, there IS cursing in this book, occasionally, it’s funny, too. **
Cygnus Rising, Cygnus Expanding, and Cygnus Arrives – the first three books in the Cygnus Space Opera series bundled together for a single read.
Snarky Hillcats and the Cygnus Marines on harrowing missions …what could go wrong?
What do others have to say about the Cygnus Space Opera?
•“Most authors can’t make an animal character believable. This one does. Craig Martelle has a great imagination and can put it down on paper for you to enjoy also, just like the great writers of the golden age. His writing is very reminiscent of their work.” Amazon five-star reviewer
•“…you will see the flavor of Sci-fi, Fantasy, and with enough sarcasm and humor to keep you highly entertained!”
•“A character driven book, but with a stable plot as well.”
•“I enjoyed reading it very much. There is a lot of humor as well as action. I look forward to the next book in the series.”
From space they came to space they returned. Humanity would not be denied.

Halo of Light – Cin and Gui
Heaven and earth will move to bring them together whether they like it or not…
He belongs to heaven.
I belong to earth.
Both of us belong alone…
When a mysterious organization tells us that we’ve got to partner up to stop a dangerous monster that moves like shadow through the streets of New York City, murdering innocent women, I’m not surprised when both of us resist.
I’m a sorceress who shoots first and asks questions… never. That’s how a girl survives a city full of bloodsuckers and hellspawn and I don’t just mean your average New Yorker. I mean vampires and demons. I’m a book thief. I work solo at night so I run into my share of things that go “get in my tummy!” at night.
Him? He was made to protect and comfort, though I honestly can’t see it—not with that emotionless face and aloof air. Angel? No way, but that’s how I approach everything supernatural—with a healthy dose of skepticism.
My skills don’t complement his at all, but everything keeps pushing us together, including my own sense of survival. The shadow is getting closer and closer to killing me. Can this new partner of mine help me?
Sure, I can take care of myself, but the people I love most in all the world? They’re screwed. I’ll do anything to save them. Even if it means bonding myself to a timeless being with a face and heart like stone.
Is purgatory just an endless cycle of living and dying inside a taxidermied dog?
What do you do when you’re a retired professor of indigenous languages and an ancient mayan trickster god decides he wants your help?
Where does a professional gambler go to “recharge” luck?
18 stories by award-winning author Lawrence M. Schoen, including several previously published in out of print, anthologies and excerpts from larger works that ended up on the cutting room floor are preserved here, ensuring they don’t simply vanish for all time. Characters that have continued across stories and books, early tales that tinker with expectations and societal perspectives, or blur our understanding of ordinary things from intro psych classes to the neighborhood pharmacy.
In this latest collection, Schoen reminds us that his talent for creativity and diversity, compelling characters and entertaining dialogue, is still going strong.
Rebel is set in the same universe as the United Federation Marine Corps series, and while the Marines make an appearance, this book is not about Ryck Lysander or the Corps.
Michiko MacCailín is a member of the First Families, more concerned with her privileged lifestyle of ballet, spending time with friends, and planning her wedding than of the injustices suffered by the indentured workers of the all-powerful Propitious Interstellar Fabrication, Inc., the charter holder of the planet. When her activist fiancé is murdered at a protest rally, she blames the company and embarks on a personal mission of vengeance.
Michi has some initial, if minor success, but when the company requests that the Federation send in the Marine Corps to quell the unrest, the stakes immediately get higher. Undeterred, Michi is not going to let the Marines keep her from extracting her revenge.
WARNING: This book contains some graphic violence that may not be suitable for all readers.
AUTHOR’S NOTE: Rebel is set in the same universe as the first three books in The United Federation Marine Corps series, and a few of the characters in those three books make brief appearances in this one. However, this is a decidedly different book, examining what it might be like on the other side of a Federation Marine deployment. The battle scenes are limited, and the violence is much more visceral and personal. This is a darker, deeper book and not your typical “Space Marine” story.
Rebel will tie into future volumes of the series that will put the focus back on the Marines, but it is a departure from the first three volumes.
