Happy Wednesday, fellow reading addicts!
A long weekend is almost upon us and, at least where I’m at, this weekend marks the opening of pools around the state. Hard to believe seeing as we had near freezing lows this past weekend. Brrrr!
I’m gearing up for another garage sale this weekend as well as a bunch of other things coming up this summer. Strangely enough, the only books that are being put into the garage sale are books I either didn’t enjoy or have duplicates of. I tend to hoard books.
Then I head to London toward the end of June, so getting ready for that trip as well. It’s going to be a busy year and I’m looking forward to it.
If you were going to recommend a book(s) to read on my log flights, what would you recommend to me?
Enjoy and happy reading!

From the lead designer of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim comes an epic journey into Norse Mythology. What if Loki was never the bad guy?
Loki, once a god, now nothing more than a stage magician in modern-day Chicago…
…his enemies from a thousand years ago have long memories.
Victors wrote the history, and Loki was blamed for the sins of the Norse gods. They can’t let him live in peace.
He has to set aside his new life to settle old grudges while coming to terms with what it means to be a man.
And a god.
If Loki fails, the nine realms will fall.
This is not superhero fiction. Mischief Maker breathes new life into Norse mythology, reinterpreting the legends through Loki’s modern lens.
Mischief Maker could be one of the best stories you read this year. Try it today.
The year on the human home world calendar is 2220.
Life is a bit like the sci-fi shows of the 20th Century in some ways.
In others? Not so much.
I’m on a League of Civilizations star ship. Yep. Star Ship. In space.
Currently trying to physically, and emotionally, recover from a crash where I lost my partner. All would be going fine except we also have to survive an encounter with the deadliest lifeform in the universe.
A lifeform we were starting to think was just legend.
No big deal.
If it were just about the lives on board that would be one thing. But it’s not. What we do next will impact everyone, in all the League civilizations. That’s hundreds of billions of sentients. They could all be wiped out.
I’m running out of options.
Oh yeah, and as if dealing with trying to save everyone in the universe wasn’t enough, I also have to contend with a crush on the ship’s first officer who also happens to be… yes, you guessed it, a synthetic life form.
Fuck my life.
Surviving either of these things intact is going to be a challenge.

Without her I won’t stand a chance against Shipton and the Elemental Vampires.
