Happy Wednesday, fellow reading addicts!

I mentioned in the last email that I started watching The Wheel of Time on Amazon Prime. Well, I finished Season 1 and I think I’m glad I didn’t re-read book 1 before watching it. It’s been at least a decade, if not longer, since I read the book, so some of the details are fuzzy. There were definitely a lot “I don’t remember that happening” moments as well as some others. I understood some of the changes but others had me confused. But I still enjoyed it even with the confusion and will watch it a second time to catch things I know I missed. And then it will be time for a re-read.

And then next month I get to start watching Picard again. Can’t wait for that as well as catching up on Discovery. Yes, I’m a nerd and proud of it.

Check out this week’s books. There are some great discounts and a series sale that has the first 3 books on sale. You won’t want to miss out on these great deals!

Enjoy and happy reading!

Warlord Born

For two decades he served…

…and never questioned the orders.

Would one act of mercy cost him?

Alistair believed in the work. He was the last line of defense against the rebels’ unending war to overthrow the Commonwealth. His legend preceded him – the greatest Titan the corps had ever produced.

Alistair’s mission was simple: catch and kill two rebels. Then they said a few words that forever changed his life.

Alexander’s family had ruled the Commonwealth for ten generations. His 30-years as Emperor had been peaceful, but only because he didn’t tolerate dissent. Now, a Titan had betrayed him.

Alistair must die.

In a battle of Good vs. Evil, the stakes have never been higher.

Can Alistair survive? Or will Earth’s greatest warrior fall to its greatest ruler?

You’ll love this first book in The Great Insurrection series, because this military science fiction has a hero that will challenge an empire.

The Curse of Cain

Welcome to the Vilokan Asylum of the Magically and Mentally Deranged.

I’m Doctor Cain. I’ll be supervising your treatment plan.

Yes, before you ask, I am that Cain.

I’ve come a long way since I became the world’s first murderer.

I’m now a licensed psychiatrist.

What is it you just asked? You heard that I was cursed?

Yes, I’m also the world’s first werewolf…

But don’t worry. I have it under control.

It won’t interfere with your progress at Vilokan Asylum.

The Curse of Cain: When a necromancer is admitted to Vilokan Asylum against her will, and she evokes the ghost of Cain’s murdered brother, Abel, he’ll have to do more than treat the patient… he’ll have to confront the ghosts of his past, literally.

Razing Cain: After agreeing with the new Vampire Council to take on their newest batch of younglings, and help them tame their blood cravings, things quickly get out of hand at Vilokan Asylum. Dr. Cain will need more than a “blood suckers” support group to get a handle on the issue. He’ll require the aid of Baron Samedi… of course, when the Baron is involved, his help almost always comes at a cost.

Cain and Angel: A fallen angel has a change of heart. Samyaza, aka “Sam,” just can’t stomach the big guy “downstairs” and his propensity for torture, fire, and all that devilish crap. But he’s burned her bridges with the celestials, too. When Sam comes to Vilokan Asylum, he hopes Cain’s experience with the guy “upstairs” can help him find his own path on the narrow road between the warring leagues of angels. But when the Archangel Michael is sent to arrest the “unfallen” angel, Cain must approach the Divine for the first time in several millennia to advocate for his patient.

The Vilokan Asylum of the Magically and Mentally Deranged is a paranormal romp, diving into a world of voodoo, werewolves, vampires, and magic. Dr. Cain is a snarky werewolf, an Old Testament character brought to life in a modern day fantasy setting. Readers of Monroe’s Legacy of a Vampire Witch or The Legend of Nyx have met Dr. Cain before. Now, we get a deeper look into the world of magic and mayhem that is the Vilokan Asylum.

Fallen King: Progression Sword and Sorcery

His conquest was for his ancestors. His glory was within grasp. His failure has left all of his companions dead.

They say that the race of men took that which belonged to the dwarves. Turgon Highstone was taking it back. Claiming his family’s right to lost cities across a region once overran by orc hordes, he amassed many loyal dwarves to fight by his side… but the war turned against him.

Suddenly finding himself locked in a dungeon, a stranger appears and provides a way out of captivity. Turgon wants revenge for his brothers and sisters-in-arms, but instead, he runs into an overbearing priest and a demonic specter haunting dwarven ruins.

The Fallen King is soon swept up in an even greater turmoil that may just make all the losses and failures actually mean something. But can he trust any of these new ‘friends’ when he is still a very much wanted dwarf?

His true destiny is about to be revealed.
