Happy Wednesday, fellow reading addicts!
We’re halfway through the month. Next week is going to be a short, or long, week depending on how you look at it. It will be a busy week for me. My health is starting to return to normal – sort of – but I have a lot of follow up doctor visits in the next two weeks and a lot of things to get done before the new year gets here.
Do you have all of your Christmas shopping done? I don’t have a lot to do and most of it is done already. I didn’t put up a Christmas tree this year because of the two kittens who would absolutely destroy it. At this point, I doubt I’ll get any decorations up. I’m currently battening down for a line of severe winds followed by severe storms tomorrow afternoon. They canceled school for the kiddos because of the high winds and storms arriving right as school lets out. I mean 75mph wind gusts and sustained winds of 35 – 45 mph is nothing to laugh at. Here’s hoping it’s not as bad as they say it could get.
Next week will be another one of our special weeks with a week of free books being given away. Be sure to keep an eye out for that email next week!
This week is full of boxed sets, free books and new releases. Check them out below! Note: One of the books isn’t discounted but it is in Kindle Unlimited and its the last in a trilogy.
Enjoy and happy reading!

The Heinous Crimes of Sara Slick Boxed Set
The Heinous Crimes of Sara Slick is now completed and YOU can get it all in one giant boxed set now!
I was innocent, and they called me a monster.
Maybe a monster is exactly what the earth needs.
Escape the Deep:
My name is Sara Slick, and I was an average teenager. I worked hard. Followed the rules. Took care of my family. But normal dissolved the night that the hidden world of The Far showed up to accuse my dad of heinous crimes against the magical community.
To protect the ones I loved, I took the blame and the sentence of ten lifetimes in The Deep.
No human had ever been sent to this paranormal prison.
They didn’t think I’d last the night.
They couldn’t have been more wrong.
I survived by becoming the kind of human the magical world feared. Now, a decade later, I need to escape from hell before the home I sacrificed everything for meets its end at the hands of a maniacal, master wizard and his army of fanatics.
What’s one army against the heinous Sara Slick?
Kill The Wild:
A dead body. A strange cult. A terrified people.
Sounds like the perfect place for the Heinous Sara Slick.
OK, so I escaped from magical prison, saved my home town, made some friends, and managed not to die in the process. Not too bad for the Heinous Sara Slick.
But now what?
Hobbes, mastermind of all things evil, has gone into hiding, and all my leads have dried up. With the Philosopher’s Guild hot on my tail, the smart choice would be to lay low, bide my time, and take things easy.
Or, I could investigate a brutal murder deep in the woods of rural Apalachia.
Dead bodies keep turning up outside a small secluded community. And these bodies look weird. Like, giving-off-major-Farsider-vibes weird.
So, of course Ally and I are going to investigate. Who doesn’t love a road trip? The trick is solving these murders before getting my friend killed in the process. I can deal with Farsiders, but sometimes there are worse things than monsters living in the wild.
Fight The Peace:
International intrigue. Deadly assassins. Tacos!
Just an average day for the Heinous Sara Slick.
When a daring rescue uncovers new intel into the Harbingers’ next plan, we do what we do best: rush in fists raised to stop the bad guys.
But this is no backyard brawl. A coalition of world leaders have assembled to sign a peace treaty, and Hobbes has marked them as his next target. The fate of the world is at stake, and I’m the only one who can save it.
As long as I can get past the TSA.
You know what they say, to make an omelette, you need to break a few eggs.
And to save the world, sometimes you need to fight the peace.
Invade The Heights:
The end of the world is near.
There’s danger upon us.
And only the Heinous Sara Slick can stop it.
This is it, the moment I’ve been dreading since I escaped the Deep. Hobbes has unleashed his war upon the world, and the world wasn’t ready.
Angry Farsiders are attacking without mercy, Rand and the Philosopher’s Guild are out for blood, and the Near is in flames.
The good news is I have a new ally.
The bad news is, it is one of my many sworn enemies.
But beggars can’t be choosers, and I’ll need all the help I can get if I’m going to pull off my most dangerous mission yet.
I have to Invade the Heights.
Unfortunately, invading the heights will be the easiest thing I do today.

•“…you will see the flavor of Sci-fi, Fantasy, and with enough sarcasm and humor to keep you highly entertained!”
•“A character driven book, but with a stable plot as well.”
•“I enjoyed reading it very much. There is a lot of humor as well as action. I look forward to the next book in the series.”

Murder Most Annoying
Carolyn Neville may not be the world’s greatest detective, but that’s fine. She’s a long-suffering Manhattan book editor, one of those dinosaurs in danger of being replaced by spell check and Netflix.
Carolyn is still trying to edit the world around her. But the world isn’t cooperating, her spiritual life is shaky, and her love life is nonexistent. Unfortunately, her job at a Manhattan publishing house keeps drawing her into more literal dangers, much to her understandable irritation.
Along with her sarcastic sidekick, Stephen Ames, they investigate shocking charges that one of their bestselling authors, Willow Hayly, is a fraud. When the Atlanta blogger who broke the story is murdered, they find themselves chief among the suspects…
For fans of Horace Rumpole, Monk and Stephanie Plum, the Carolyn Neville Mysteries are full of laugh-out-loud suspense.

What if our desires create fantastic worlds?
Fantastically flawed, as if every day were Christmas…
No one understands what emotional turmoil people live with. Boiling beneath the surface until it explodes. The world must change.
Unless a person can create a new world and disappear into it, an echo world, reverberating with the sounds of one’s own dreams.
But like a dream, they aren’t real. Who can see the unreal, the real, the fantastic, and the mundane? Those who were born in the dreamland and brought to the real world. A part of them is forever elsewhere. It makes them special.
Who has the emotional range, from atmospheric highs to the depths of despair and all points in between to best deal with the unreal? The young, that’s who.
Twelve-year-old Ravlen has to grow up too soon, to save those who can’t save themselves.
She’s not ready, but she goes anyway.
Into the echo, where she has to find herself as much as the lost souls within.
Evil versus evil
Conrad Bland has slaughtered tens of millions, a butcher vastly worse than Hitler. He has never considered not killing anyone who stood in his way.
He takes refuge on Walpurgis III, a planet settled by various cults of devil worshippers. He is the manifestation of the evil they revere, but now that they have come face-to-face with their beliefs, the cults desperately want Bland to be removed from their lives, their world, and entirely from existence.
So Walpurgis III contacts Jericho, the greatest assassin in the galaxy, to rid them of Conrad Bland. But once the assassin arrives and begins to make his bloody way toward Bland’s headquarters, the people—especially John Sable, the top policeman on the planet—must face an excruciating choice.
Who is more dangerous, the man who kills from compulsion? Or the man who kills from calculation?

According to Merriam-Webster, Space Opera is a futuristic melodramatic fantasy involving space travelers and extraterrestrials beings.
That seems like an overly simplistic definition to me. It is the dictionary, after all. Still, Merriam-Webster is less unflattering than Oxford: a novel, movie, or television program set in outer space, typically of a simplistic and melodramatic nature.
But we aren’t here because we like to read dictionaries. We’re here because we love to read science fiction and fantasy. And even if you believe Space Opera is fantasy, like Messrs. Merriam and Webster, you know it’s far from being simplistic.
Space Opera is about interstellar adventure, larger than life characters, and far-flung civilizations. It’s about advanced species, mind-blowing weapons, and life-altering technology, in stories that start next year or centuries in the future. But more than that, it’s about the struggle against galactic empires, about freedom, justice, and finding a place and a family where you belong.
Whether you subscribe to one of the definitions above, or something completely different, Space Opera has something for anyone who’s ever wanted to shoot a ray-gun, meet an alien, or explore a far-off galaxy.
Come along on an adventure to new worlds. Meet the farmer boy who will save the universe, the young girl who will become a galactic empress, or the gunslinging bounty hunter with a heart of gold. Join us in a world where good will triumph over the evil empire, and a single act can change the fabric of entire cultures.
