After a week of temperatures in the 90s, fall is upon us again and I think it’s here to stay. We might even see our first frost or freeze by the end of the week. That means less time outside, more time inside with a nice hot drink, a heated blanket and time to read more books.
After the past few months, I have plenty of books to read. And there’s even more for you to choose from this week! There are some great deals here!
Enjoy and happy reading!

Jackson Bach has no magic, no money, and no one.
He’s also the first human in twelve thousand years to walk through the Gate.
Discharged from the Marines for telling the truth and out of options, Jackson is offered a seat at Atlantis University — a school that exists between dimensions, where students bend gravity, command light, and fight with magic and impossible technology side by side. Jackson can’t do any of it. He’s the only human on a campus full of beings who’d rather believe his kind died out twelve thousand years ago.
Then the campus starts to wake up.
Ghosts of Earth’s greatest minds flicker to life across the quad — and they answer to Jackson alone. The faculty are terrified of him. A ruthless corporation wants to take him apart and study the pieces. And buried beneath the gleaming spires is a truth no one will say out loud: humanity was never forgotten. It was abandoned. And someone made very sure it stayed that way.
To survive, Jackson needs the one thing he’s never had — people who choose him. A thief who works alone. A fugitive with a kill-switch wired into her skull. A mentor risking everything to guard a secret. They’re the closest thing to family he’s ever known, and the hunters closing in will have to go through every last one of them first.
Fast, funny, and impossible to put down, Through the Gate launches the Atlantis University series — a found-family adventure you’ll tear through in a single sitting.
Fear for your life, the monsters have returned.

An exciting story about family values and friendship, with incredible adventures in an inhospitable land during a long and difficult journey home. Every child brought there by the wind made a mistake, but everyone gets a second chance. Young Inka was upset with her mother and decided she wanted to disappear and live without her. Little did she know that her wish was about to come true. A dark wind swept Inka off her feet just a moment later and carried her to the Windy Lands, an inhospitable magical world. On this journey of self-discovery, Inka learns the value of friendship, love, and trust while trying to find her way back to her mother. Prepare to enter a land of mystical stories, where you will encounter magical creatures at every step along your journey. This story is accompanied by vivid illustrations in the “children’s gothic” style created by Galia Zin’ko, a renowned Ukrainian artist.
Fans of The Expanse and Firefly will love this diesel-fueled rebellion across the stars!
In a groundbreaking discovery, Mexican physicist Dr. Ernesto Lopez invents a mysterious antigravity device. The catch? Closing an electrical circuit within the antigravity field instantly sends the device—and its passengers—somewhere unknown. Is it subatomic disassembly? Another dimension? No one knows, but the world is eager to exploit the technology. However, electricity must be kept far away from Professor Lopez’s peculiar flying machine.
The only practical way to keep a Lopez drive functioning is with a diesel engine. Since diesels rely on heat from compression, rather than an electrical spark, they work safely within the antigravity field. Soon enough, people are traveling to other planets aboard Lopez ships. Then, a breakthrough: someone tweaks the drive, allowing it to surpass the speed of light. Suddenly, the stars are only months away.
A galactic gold rush ensues as explorers and settlers flood into the cosmos. But with electrical devices unusable in a Lopez field—and wiring ineffective when exposed to an active drive—each new colony must start from a pre-electrical (19th-century) technology base. Earth’s powers exploit this limitation, tightening control over the colonies’ expansion and keeping them financially shackled.
In defiance, tramp freighter captain Maggie Crenshaw and former Marine Corps officer Eduardo Watanabe assemble a covert alliance to liberate the colonies from Earth’s suffocating rule. Together, they lead a rebellion of pirates, anarchists, religious zealots, and rogue explorers. If they fail, it will be every man for himself in a battle for freedom among the stars.
