Happy Wednesday, fellow reading addicts!

First of all, I made it to Australia! The past few years when I had planned to be here, it felt like the cosmos was working against me to prevent me from getting here and I expected something to go wrong on the way.

Technically, we had a minor issue – the flight from San Francisco was delayed because a luggage bin wouldn’t close. They had to get a mechanic out and they fixed the issue with duct tape. Duct tape fixes everything, right?

I did get some reading done on the flight but I also got to watch movies and get some work done on the way. Watched Dog (I cried), Morbius (I don’t understand how they created such a bad movie about that character), and Adams Family Values (rewatched because I last saw that when I was a lot younger. Of those movies, I strongly suggest checking out Dog. And not really a spoiler, but going to say it for anyone who might be worried – Dog doesn’t die at the end and it is an absolutely beautiful movie that hits points we really should consider more for veterans and dogs that served in the military.

We have another round of wonderful books to check out! You won’t want to miss them below!

Enjoy and happy reading!

In the Shadow of Ziammotienth

(FREE through August 5, 2022)

Why is it that thieves and mages never mix? Probably because thieves remind mages too much of themselves.

A young female thief is working to help her crew stay alive in Waypoint, a city that exists on the precipice of humanity to one side and in the shadows of Ziammotienth on the other.

Also called Tolan’s Doom, the mountain torn asunder by a dragon—if you believe in myths.

Many an adventurer calls Waypoint the only bastion of civilization before returning to the remains of the once-great half-elven city’s remains from which to strike into the darkness underground.

Most do not return.

Kaylin has no intention of heading to the mountain’s grip. But will she be able to evade its grasp?

Is Ziammotienth just a story of legends and minstrels or much more? Commerce, adventure, and intrigue swirl around the young thief as she fights her way into a far larger world than she had expected to experience.

Because everyone has to live…and die…somewhere.

What are readers saying about The Legend of Nyx?

★★★★★ This is not your normal shifter read! A shifter who gets bit by a vampire and now cannot shift so is stuck in the last body they shifted to!! Nyx / Nicky is a strong and snarky character who you can’t help but like. The author has done an incredible job building this world and the storyline draws you in and keeps hold of you. (Amazon Reviewer)

★★★★★ The thing I just love about this literary universe is the characters. They’re all REAL. They’re all relatable, humans. They have personalities, wants and, desires. They make mistakes and atone for them. They blunder and then have to apologize for it. Characters you think are unredeemable later show their humanity and you realize they weren’t as bad as you initially thought. (Amazon Reviewer)

★★★★★ Theo did it again! I’m impressed with the characters as always. I’ve read the entire series this card and can’t wait to continue reading. Though I’m a strong Christian, I enjoy reading fantasy. This subject was not my favorite, but after finishing the book & reading the Notes from Author, I took a different view, more thought provoking. Excellently done! (Amazon Reviewer, Scared Shiftless)

The Legend of Nyx is a paranormal enemies-to-lovers, closed door, slow burn LGBTQ+ romance and an edgy urban fantasy story featuring a vampire slayer and shapeshifter. It is a standalone adventure but also situated within Monroe’s Gates of Eden Universe.

Violent Graduation

Violent Graduation is the first book in a brand new series. It has a serial format – there are cliff hangers!

It’s easy to ignore dangerous issues while you’re studying at the Royal Space Navy’s academy, until a sniper attempts to assassinate you.

The scar across the side of Jack’s head is the visible price. The risk to his friends at the academy is the hidden price. His challenge is how to balance the risks.

The final stage of his training is a shakedown cruise on an old minesweeper, barely able to achieve FTL entry and exit.
Midway through their cruise, the minesweeper collides with an ancient alien wreck, ripping the sides off the starship. Jack’s team of bots help seal the combined wreck to prevent air loss. Ghost, a nanolife form from the alien wreck, provides assistance.

Jack and his girlfriend, Sofia, are the only survivors, and air, food, and supplies are critical.

The countdown of days to survive is ticking.

No wonder the Royal Family are angry.

And there’s still a price on Jack’s head.

An epic space opera story from an established and best selling Amazon writer.

Note: Like a number of SF writers, I invent words to represent aspects of the future – e.g., ecar = electrical car. Likewise spokesbot – well, spokesperson wouldn’t suit for a bot, would it? I also purposefully mis-spell words to indicate a dialect or uneducated speech pattern – orright? Enjoy!
